Kembar Mayang

Kembar Mayang, is a pair of series of ornaments from some fruits and flowers. Kembar Mayang believed to be part of a ritual, a means to meet the Javanese wedding. Its meaning as a symbol of new family formation.
Mayang, is the areca flower in full bloom, burst into beautiful and fragrant. Actually, the flower mimics the organization of festivities, sanctity, dignity and beauty of the royal wedding or coronation of a king. Since it is considered good and full of meaning, then this culture then becomes imperative that is sacred.
Why is a must? This stems from the legend Partakrama play. Goddess Supraba Dananjaya willing to marry a complete condition as ‘bebana’. The goddess asked ‘Kembar Mayang Khayangan’ form ‘Klepu Jayadaru Dewadaru’.
Klepu, is Kalpataru wood. Kalpataru tree is considered as the tree of life that affects both the environment. So this tree is very coveted by Dewi Supraba. Fortunately there is the Pandavas who could borrow Kembar Mayang from Khayangan.
Kembar Mayang shown for various purposes. Eg
- To meet the bride
- As an antidote to the dangers
- Respect for official inauguration
- Award to someone who has acted as a hero. etc.
Kembar Mayang used to meet the bride served as
1. Pasren, the jewelry is placed in the left-right near the bridal chair
2. Wewarah, the instructions, advice across a new life
The materials to make Kembar Mayang are as follows:
1. Omen banana stem survival, straight, strong, well-adjusted although the climate is always changing, always juicy cold limbs signify peace.

10. Kanthil flowers, always wanted to be close, peaceful, safe and happy
11. rice and cotton, food and clothing prosperity
12.Tebu tua (old sugarcane), fast straight, fresh, sweet.
13. Some other leaves as a symbol of salvation and glory.
Creation and usability requirements kembarmayang
Because of this decoration is sacred, then the construction must meet the rules and put in a place of honor. The rules and to Kembar Mayang follows:
1. Beginning
- Must use the best selected ingredients
- Must be done in time no other purposes

2. Ngupadi event. This event is a way to get Kembar Mayang materials. Traditionally, there are three actors Kembar Mayang search. They are:

Kanthil = There is no Indonesian name for this flower plant.
